Baskets, small round baskets and other handicrafts made from bamboo/rattans are traditional equipment used for daily life by Cambodian people since ancient times. They are hand-made products using bamboo, rattan and small species of rattan as raw materials.
Uniqueness of product: light weight and moveable products that can be used for multiple functions.
Farmers are cultivating cashews on their farm land and in the neighborhood. The cultivation is done by family-run farms at small scale of production. These farms are not located in one area but spread throughout the province.
Crocodiles are large reptiles that eat raw fish, eels, snakes or mouse as their main food. In recent years crocodiles farming has increased in Kampong Chhnang Province as well as in other provinces surrounded Beoung Tonle Sap Lake. The crocodiles eat a lot of fish and are therefore called by the farmers ”Crocodile-Fish”. When they are sold the crocodiles are normally 8 years old, 2 to 3 meter long and weight 50-60 kg/head. A crocodile’s skin can be processed into luxurious products such as bags, shoes, etc. and provide high prices.
